A CASE OF NEURILEMOMA OF THE LEFT CALF MUSCLE



Abstract
The Neurilemoma is the most frequent solitary tumor of the peripheral nerves. A case of benign, encapsulated, huge neurilemoma on the left calf muscle is reported.
This case was a 64 year of old female who complained of painless swelling and huge mass on the left calf region for about 40 years duration.
Roentgenograms revealed huge soft tissue swelling on the calf region without bony pathology. Excision of tumor was performed through longitudinally curved incision over the calf region and
tumor mass showed 21 X 8 X 6. 5 cm in sized gray white to light yellow edematous external appearance with well encapsulation by fibrous tissue.
Excellent result was obtained without recurrence.
